Paralegal Motor Injury - Newport South Wales + Hybrid

Your new firm
Our client is a leading and international law firm, having received numerous awards, known for their employee focused culture. They are currently looking for Paralegals to join their Motor Injury team in South Wales. The roles are based from their Newport office however they are happy to consider candidates working mostly remotely as the team is now largely working in a hybrid manner (home and office based working). However you will need to come to the office for team meetings/training etc. therefore it is anticipated that you will live within a commutable distance of Newport. The roles range in level so we are looking for candidates of varying experience. This includes candidates who may have a customer experience background rather than legal and those who may not have experience of vehicle hire and damage claims or litigation generally. Equally, we are keen to hear from candidates who have experience in either vehicle hire and damage claims, RTA claims and/or litigation generally for the more senior roles available as well.

The team deals with claims from small track to multi track including fraudulent claims. The team will also deal with liability, indemnity and associated losses including personal injury, credit repair and diminution. This is a great opportunity with an excellent firm, and will give you the opportunity to develop your career with plenty of progression for the right person. Progression can either be by technical development, building client relationships and/or progression to supervisor or managerial role. The firm also actively encourage and support professional funding for further qualification such as Cilex or to qualify as a solicitor.

Your new role
You will complete detailed training for this role and work within the firm's motor injury team, alongside and supported by industry experts. You will interact with a range of clients on a daily basis, providing a timely, professional and high-quality service to clients in the management of volume litigated motor injury cases, as well as the following duties :
* Be responsible for a varied caseload of pre-litigated or litigated work (depending on experience) with an appropriate level of supervision
* Act as a point of contact for clients
* Comply with internal and external service level agreements
* To record timely and accurate management information
* Analysis of evidence and setting case strategies encompassing both technical and commercial considerations, obtaining and drafting pleadings, witness statements and letters of response, conducting (telephone) negotiation of claims
* Support marketing and business development activity within the team (e. attending marketing events, client training, clinics and shadowing days)

What you'll need to succeed
As this role provides in-depth support and training, the only essential experience that is required is interacting with and assisting customers, such as having worked in a call centre or as a customer assistant, or a law degree. Claims handling or paralegal experience is not required but would be considered a bonus. Strong IT, organisation and communication skills will also be important for this role. All relevant experience in similar roles or areas of practice is desirable but not essential and we are happy to hear from graduates who feel they would be a good fit.

For more senior roles, a successful candidate will have experience of dealing with litigated claims, either in Credit Hire or some other similar area such as personal injury alternatively experience in handling credit hire claims even if not in a litigated background. A Defendant background/experience is not essential. The technical ability to appropriately advise insurer clients as to all issues associated with volume motor clams, including liability, multiple party claims, indemnity and issues of quantum.

What you'll get in return
This is an incredible opportunity to develop your career in a supportive and successful environment, with potential to progress in the future. You will also receive a competitive salary, 24 days holiday (as well as bank holidays), pension, private medical insurance, and a range of other benefits.
