I am partnering with a Global Investment Bank to secure a Legal Counsel on a 12 month FTC. This role sits within a cohesive legal team, and reports through to the Head of Legal.

This role is a great opportunity for a candidate looking to grow their experience within the Financial Services Sector. Working in a reputable organisation, you will work directly with experience senior lawyers on a range of tasks including:

    • Drafting all legal documentation associate with and ancillary to investment management agreements (IMAs), including (but not limited to) side letters/amendments and other general commercial agreements such as delegation agreements, indemnities, subscription agreements, NDAs, letters of intent etc

    • Advice on distribution legal/compliance issues including cross-border marketing and the adoption of appropriate intra-business processes to ensure compliance with local regulations and/or obligations to clients, and to offer solutions and mitigants depending on the distribution plan.

    • Advice on day to day legal and regulatory client documentation needs of Institutional client services and Distribution generally.

    • Advice / team involvement in outsourcings taken on by the firms for strategic clients

    • Potential for advisory involvement in regulatory projects, interpretation and implementation of new regulations and directives across the relevant areas of the firm. Recent and current examples include SFDR, PRIIPs, MiFID II, AIFMD, UCITS, Solvency II, FATCA, CRS, EMIR and GDPR.

  • Potential for advice on correspondence with regulators on issues arising from the management, administration and distribution globally (in particular in the UK, Luxembourg and Asia).

The ideal candidate will:

  • Be 2+ PQE (however, all candidates will be considered on merit)
  • Have experience working on, or exposure to, Investment Management Agreements
  • Good contract law knowledge/drafting skills
  • Have worked in private practice, or in-house within a bank/investment firm or asset management company
