An unmissable opportunity to join a well-regarded Council as their Deputy Head of Legal, leading and managing the provision of legal services with expertise in Property and Regeneration.
Our client is seeking a suitably qualified senior lawyer to lead their regeneration team. The Council is at the forefront of major schemes, significant regeneration and major projects. These significant projects will shape the Borough and deliver benefits for all residents for decades.
The ideal candidate will be an enthusiastic senior lawyer who can provide strategic leadership of the Councils internal legal teams of planning, contract and property lawyers. The post holder will be responsible for having oversight of major schemes ensuring effective and timely legal support and engagement. The post holder will also act as Deputy Monitoring Officer.
The right candidate will build positive working relationships with colleagues and clients and senior managers, be motivated and able to hit the ground running. This is an opportunity to develop as a senior legal leader within a Lexcel accredited team whilst making a significant difference for residents across the Borough.
The Deputy Head of Legal will have local government experience and knowledge of the areas of law involved in the post.
This is a role with both an interesting workload and a great team.
Positions like this don't come about often and when they do offer great opportunities and scope. Experience in all the areas of the role isn't required, a willingness to learn and pick up new areas is key to the position.
The post is to start as soon as possible and the locum post will be 3 months initially with a view to turning into a rolling contract. The successful candidate needs to be able to commute to the offices based East of London on a hybrid basis.
