Defendant Catastrophic Injury Lawyer (FTC) Coventry

The defendant Complex Injury Claims Team at this law firm deal with all aspects of defendant litigation, including catastrophic injury and high value RTA claims, including brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, amputations and fatalities.

This role will involve supporting a Partner and other senior claims handlers on complex multi-track matters, providing technical and strategic advice to long-standing clients, comprising major insurers and corporates on liability, causation and quantum.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a leading Legal 500 rated Partner and to gain exposure to excellent quality work. The role is for a fixed term from June 2022 for 8 months. Previous experience of dealing with a caseload of indemnity, liability and complex medical issues matters is essential, either as a claimant or defendant.

The successful applicant will be a solicitor, CILEx or experienced fee earner with an interest in working in a team dedicated to providing quality technical advice. You will have experience of handling your own caseload of RTA and personal injury litigation work and be able to conduct investigations, analyse liability and complex medical evidence, and be able to use your initiative to competently advise on case strategy. Critical thinking, an ability to apply relevant case law and take proactive steps are also key. You will also have the ability to work with others and may be required to supervise junior fee earners within the team. An aptitude for teamwork and excellent IT and analytical skills are also essential for this role as is an ability to work under pressure, keep to deadlines and prioritise your own workload.
