Legal Adviser - Charity

THE ORGANISATION

A high profile charity based in London.

THE ROLE

An in house role for a lawyer to work closely with the Head of Legal; your role will be to ensure the provision of accurate, in-depth and practical legal advice to the charity on a wide range of matters, ranging from its dealings with Regulators, beneficiaries and members and its key service delivery partners in Operations and Fundraising.

You will provide advice on a range of issues affecting its activities to include inter alia,

Protection of the charity's brands and intellectual property and liaison with external trade mark attorneys.

Drafting, negotiating, reviewing, updating and creating amendments to various contracts, with an emphasis on procurement matters.

Supporting the business in its compliance with Information Security legislation and Data Protection.

Provide advice to the Operations Directorate on issues affecting the charity's activities in Care Homes and general provision of welfare.

Working closely with the Head of Safeguarding to manage issues such as the provision of Regulated Services and dealings with Regulators, the Police, the coroner, and local authority safeguarding agencies.

ABOUT YOU

A commercial lawyer ideally with an in house legal background, although a move in house from private practice will be considered.

Your experience is likely to include Data Protection and privacy matters, managing an IP/Trademark portfolio, and significant experience of Contract Negotiation with Third Parties

You should have the ability to apply your knowledge of current legal affairs within a commercial or charity environment.
