HEAD OF LEGAL - TECH COMPANY - REMOTE/FLEXIBLE WORKING
Our client is a UK-based legal technology company with headquarters in London. The business delivers legal services to companies worldwide through a network of more than 1100 lawyers across 70 countries.
The company was designed to take the hassle out of finding a great lawyer, while making sure that clients always get the best rates from lawyers they can trust. The CEO is now looking for a Senior level lawyer to join him as their first Head of Legal. This role offers a chance to lead a legal team at one of the most iconic tech start-ups in the legal space.
You will provide support to the lawyers in the team with any legal points they are unsure about. The work predominantly covers SaaS contract review (and associated data protection work), which they undertake end-to-end internally. They also run multi-country projects, where they project manage the work but hire local counsel. You will help identify new solutions to customer problems and coach junior and mid-level lawyers in the development.
To be successful you will have around 8-12 years of legal experience, including a few years in-house, ideally with the legal team of a tech scale up. You will have proven experience with commercial contract negotiation (especially SaaS), as well as at least a high-level understanding of the data protection points associated with that. Importantly you will not take yourself too seriously and have a humanistic approach to work and life.
The business has a very flexible model meaning you can work more remotely. You will work with great colleagues whilst helping take a business to the next level of success.
Please note our advertisements use PQE/salary levels purely as a guide. However we are happy to consider applications from all candidates who are able to demonstrate the skills necessary to fulfil the role.
