Senior Associate - International Trade

This prestigious Top 50 firm is looking to grow its successful Commercial Department with the addition of a specialist solicitor with knowledge in international trade law and subsidy control to join the International Trade team.

The Role:

This Top 50 UK law firm is seeking an International Trade Senior Associate 5-8 years PQE to join their office in London, with flexibility for home working.

You will find a varied and exciting roster of clients of household names including the Department of International Trade as well as non-departmental government bodies and multinational corporations.

Your role will be to support the partners in the International Trade team, based in the UK and North America, on a variety of different trade law matters.

The work will include international trade law with the opportunity to advise on Free Trade Agreement negotiations as well as matters of European and UK public law. You will also cover subsidy control under EU law, the provision of UK-EU trade and Cooperation Agreement and WTO terms.

You will be part of a full-service offering, working cooperatively with staff who understand specialist matters relating to restricting & insolvency, from other parts of the firm.

The role is UK based but you will be provided with the opportunity to travel to overseas jurisdictions and you may have the opportunity to take a secondment with HM Government or a foreign partner firm.

Requirements:

• 5 - 8 PQE Solicitor qualified in England & Wales
• Previous experience working with or within the public sector on subsidy control
• Experience in advising the UK or other sovereign governments
• Practical and pragmatic approach
