Legal Cashier

This full-service commercial UK law firm wish to hire a Legal Cashier all-rounder to support with firmwide legal finance transactions. The role is replacing the existing Legal Cashier and will work directly with the Finance Manager and a small finance team. Located in offices near Chancery Lane and Holborn tube stations, the firm will offer a generous salary of up to £37,000 and benefits as well as an agile working policy of 3 days in the office and 2 days from home.

The Legal Cashier will primarily focus on client and office account cashiering as well as support to the wider billing teams, using the P4W system. They and are keen to consider strong all rounded legal accounts professionals with a strong knowledge of VAT and Solicitors Accounts Rules able to work to multiple deadlines and case completions.

Responsibilities include:

• Client payments & receipts
• Client to office account transfers
• Bank reconciliations
• Counsel fees and expert fee invoices
• Residual Client account balances
• Processing land registry, court fee, congestion charge, and other ad-hoc matter related statements
• Dealing with fee earner queries and requests
• Managing designated deposit account deposits and withdrawals
• Archiving of matters and deeds
• Billing
• Interest calculations
• Ad-hoc projects

Candidates will have a minimum of 3 years' experience operating as a Legal Cashier and a strong up to date knowledge of VAT, SAR and AML procedures. The Finance team are a close-knit group, highly organised and proactive and require someone who is a team player and able to assist with wider duties and busy times such as month/year end. The role is a permanent opportunity due to a recent resignation, whilst they will consider those on a notice period, this opportunity is to start ASAP. Standard hours are 9.30-5.30pm however this role will likely operate at 10am - 6pm due to covering and end of the day transactions.
