The Role:

This is a standout opportunity for a Sports Lawyer from Leeds to join the firm's vibrant Newcastle office, as there would only be a need to go into the office once a week.

The L500 Top Tier Sports team in Newcastle are led by a group of talented Partners, recognised as leaders in their field, who possess key specialist knowledge across the legal and sports market. With clients varying from The Football Association to Durham County Cricket Club, the work is broad and usually high profile.

You will carry out a diverse sports caseload including negotiating and preparing commercial contracts covering outsourcing, sponsorship and licensing, advising on sports governance and regulatory issues, GDPR, general IP arising in sporting matters and advising on special tax status of clubs from professional to amateur grassroots.

You can expect to receive a high level of support and significant investment in your professional development. You will be working alongside respected Lawyers, who will give you the platform to further expand your Sports network.

Requirements:

  • You will be an experienced Commercial Lawyer of 2 to 7 years PQE with some experience and/or an interest in Sports matters
  • You will have an excellent technical ability and knowledge of the legal issues that are key to the firm's sports clients
  • You will be keen to develop your legal knowledge and work collaboratively within the sports team to further progress the group as a whole
  • You will be comfortable working in a close-knit, collaborative environment with a willingness to get involved in business development
