Leading Global FTSE 30 Company is looking to hire an in-house corporate lawyer to specialise in mergers and acquisitions and be based in their head offices in London city centre (current expectation would be 2-3 days in the office and the ability to work from home for the rest of the week if desired).
Role Profile:
- Deliver pragmatic advice and solutions in relation to complex M&A matters across the business.
- Working as part of a cross-functional team, you will also advise on corporate finance strategy, international acquisitions, disposals and joint ventures.
- This role reports to the Chief Counsel of M&A, and supported by a junior lawyer and a Legal PA.
Additional responsibilities include:
- Play a key role providing M&A advice and guidance.
- Leading negotiations in M&A transactions – acquisitions, disposals and joint ventures
- Instructing external counsel and managing legal budgets.
- Participating in strategic reviews of M&A targets.
- Leading role in co-ordinating and supporting colleagues during M&A transactions.
- Developing and providing training on M&A to various functional and business areas.
- This role has a global remit so may involve some international travel.
Candidate Requirements:
- Qualified solicitor with circa 4-8 years PQE M&A experience, ideally with some in-house experience.
- Experience of working in a regulated sector would be desirable but not essential.
- Experience of concluding major international M&A transactions.
- Ability to analyse legal and commercial risk.
- High level negotiation, influencing skills and drafting skills.
- Good people and resource management skills.
