In-House Construction Lawyer (Property Technology)

London, Greater London 

2 days homeworking per week 

An amazing opportunity for an In-House Construction Lawyer (Property Technology) (CILEx) to join the legal team of a highly admired Niche Construction / mechanical engineering business based in central London. This business has worked on numerous iconic developments with an impressive number of projects secured for the next 5 yrs. This newly created role will act as number 2 in the legal team where you're required to provide practical legal advice on all construction-related matters and generally offer support to the Head of Legal and wider project management teams.

The In-House Construction Lawyer (Property Technology) Role
You will be responsible for drafting and negotiating building contracts, trade contracts, consultant appointments, sub-contracts warranties/third party rights, Parent Company Guarantees, NDAs, and other construction documentation.  A key area of this role requires your advice on construction procurement, including Two-Stage JCT Design & Build and NEC (e.g. ECC). Working knowledge and experience of FIDIC is advantageous but not essential. 

There is a real commercial (non-legal) feel to this role where you will support the project management team on a wide variety of construction-related issues and documents including dealing with ad-hoc construction-related legal queries.  You will support the project management team on a wide variety of construction-related issues and share your legal knowledge to create legal updates and host training sessions for the project management teams.

Candidates 
Candidates for this The In-House Construction Lawyer (Property Technology) Role must have gained excellent non-contentious construction law experience while knowledge of drafting standard form contracts, JCT and NEC with some exposure to FIDIC is advantageous. For the right candidate, the Head of Legal is willing to offer training and support. Applicants with previous In-House experience or secondment would be highly advantageous.
