Infrastructure, Projects and M&A Associate - City of London - Private Practice

Top Tier, global law firm is actively seeking to recruit a talented and ambitious Associate Solicitor due to continued expansion.

The Firm

International firm who not only provide technical excellence and experience but, crucially, demonstrate real insight into their clients and what really matters to them. A natural choice for FTSE100 clients and their equivalents in other markets and for the best talent, their people fulfil their potential in an environment where they are developed and valued. The firm puts itself in their clients' shoes, as part of a team of effective business people as well as efficient lawyers.

The Team

The Infrastructure, Projects and Energy (IPE) team advise funds, financial institutions, energy and utility companies, developers and public institutions on innovative, complex projects, which are frequently in the headlines. The key thread of what they do is that most of their work is bespoke, non-commodity. Each day can be different but people have the choice as they progress to specialise in areas they enjoy most. Most of the team comes from a non-projects transactional background. For example, banking, commercial, construction and corporate lawyers and there is a training programme to help grasp the fundamentals of this area. The work often involves travelling and also being able to see the result of the work.
The Role
They are looking for an associate Solicitor to join the Infrastructure, Projects and Energy team and help service a growing roster of major marine infrastructure projects.

You will be carrying out M&A and projects in the international ports and logistics sector. New relationships will continue to be formed, and new business developed. You will be working for entities that are new to the firm, and will have the ability to establish and grow deep relationships of your own.

You will enjoy exposure to top quality M&A mandates relating to infrastructure assets: You will be competing with Magic Circle/ Silver Circle firms when pitching for the work you will be carrying out, and negotiating against these firms on the transactions you work on.

The Candidate

You will be an Associate with demonstrated experience of M&A transactions and seeking a new challenge within the infrastructure and projects space.
Fundamentally, you need enthusiasm, resilience and ambition. That is, the ambition to improve yourself with the best possible work, making the most of the opportunities you will be given, whilst still having time to enjoy life outside work. You should be comfortable with the variety of work on offer, willing to embrace it and not be daunted.

- Tier 1 firm
- Highly competitive salary structure
