FTSE 100 Company - Data Protection

Background:

Our client is a leading FTSE 100 listed bank, who are looking to hire an additional lawyer into their Data Privacy team. The role offers genuine opportunity for the successful candidate, working in a major firm, on a permanent basis.

Brief Job Overview:

• Provide support and strategic advice and counsel on privacy matters to the UK Data Protection Officer (DPO) and liaise with external counsel as required.
• Provides advice and guidance to the DPO and Subject Matters Experts (SME's) from various disciplines e. marketing, HR, complaints, procurement, third party risk management, CDO, record retention, risk etc which require privacy input from the DPO.
• Manages/mitigates risk and is commercially appropriate to the legal and regulatory framework within which the business operates

Skills Required:

• Qualified UK Solicitor with a minimum of 3 years' experience
• Excellent in-depth specialised knowledge of all aspects of UK privacy and data protection law
• Experience of working in Data Protection [Policy & Advisory / Monitoring/ Remediation/Assurance) preferably in financial services / financial markets or similar industries
• Good understanding of the financial services industry, the political and economic environment in general
