Locum Commercial Property Lawyer – Remote Working – ASAP Start – up to £50 per hour –  Midlands

Venn Group’s Public Sector Legal team are currently recruiting capable candidates to join a Local Authority as a Locum Property Lawyer in the Midlands.

Expected duration: 3 – 6 months

Hourly rate: Up to £50 per hour umbrella

Skill level: Qualified Lawyer (Solicitors, Barristers and highly experienced CILEX professionals)

Working pattern: All remote and full time, however those with the relevant skills that can only work part time will also be considered

This is a position ideally looking for those who have existing experience of working within Local Government and hold practical knowledge of Property, Land and Landlord and Tenant Law.

Duties may include:

• Advising landlord clients in relation to a range of issues related to Commercial Property lettings , including but not limited to forfeiture, peaceable possession and potentially recovery of rent arrears

• Managing a varied Property portfolio including a number of industrial estates located across the region, retail units, offices, education and leisure venues

• Working on Commercial leases, licences, easements, agreements for lease and conditional contracts

• Dealing with freehold and leasehold disposals 

• Drafting and negotiating freehold transfers, deeds of surrender and investigation licenses

• Working closely with the Council’s Property Services Team in order to proactively co-ordinate and manage a large number of instructions

• Drafting Commercial Property related statutory notices and representing Commercial Property landlord clients in County Court forfeiture proceedings and completing all paperwork required

The position offers an hourly rate of up to £50 per hour dependent upon levels of experience.
