Description
Provide expert legal advice and service in the UK, Germany and 10 other countries of operation, ensuring legal
compliance, limiting risk exposure and contributing to the development of the business through managing the legal
processes in a broad range of matters.
This is a broad role with the opportunity to take ownership of significant areas of the legal work for Europe and Australia.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Managing business development and change projects from a legal perspective and working collaboratively with business leads on those projects.
- Reviewing, negotiating and finalising commercial contracts and other legal documents, marketing agreements and promotional terms and conditions.
- Managing litigation matters, including management and negotiation of disputes with suppliers, overseeing county court claims, and tracking and reporting on litigation matters to the senior leadership team.
- Supporting the Marketing team, Managing Directors and other stakeholders in the implementation of promotions, loyalty schemes and other digital marketing initiatives, including drafting terms and conditions and review of POS materials.
- Advising on proposed promotions and business developments in relation to our operating model.
- Preparation of Board minutes and shareholder resolutions, for example in relation to changes of directors.
- Effective management of external lawyers.
Profile
- A minimum of 6 years' PQE in commercial law with prior in-house experience is required.
- Experience of a broad range of commercial transactions and legal matters, preferably with experience of international transactions.
- Experience of data privacy, corporate/company secretarial work or litigation is preferred.
- Experience of marketing law would also be an advantage but is not essential.
- Multi-national experience required.
- Ability to instruct external lawyers when necessary.
- Fluency in another European language, particularly German, would be an advantage but is not required.
Job Offer
Basic Salary: £85,000-£90,000
Bonus: 15%
