BCL Legal is pleased to be working alongside this leading international firm in its recruitment of a newly qualified non-contentious construction solicitor to join its highly regarded and award winning construction team in Birmingham working as part of a national team of construction lawyers.
The successful construction solicitor will work on a broad range of matters including infrastructure projects and housing developments nationally.
As a construction solicitor with this team, you will be involved in the full spectrum of construction related matters, from initial structuring, procurement advice, setting up contracts, appointments, joint ventures and development agreements. The team is integrated with real estate, housing and regeneration, tax and planning to ensure that a fully managed service is provided to clients.
For the right candidate, there is also scope to include some elements of contentious construction work although this is generally carried out in a specific contentious construction team.
The firm's sector focus includes housing, education, leisure and general commercial and clients are domestic and multinational and in both the private and public sectors.
You will benefit from excellent training in advising on construction and procurement strategies, risk management, tendering, contract formation, and all aspects of development through design and construction. You will also advise on asset management contracts and maintenance contracts and provide due diligence support to the real estate, corporate and banking teams on acquisitions and disposals.
The successful newly qualified construction solicitor should have an excellent academic record and strong training although team fit and personality are key to this friendly and collaborative team as is a real enthusiasm to work hard and develop an expertise within construction.
