Legal Counsel - Claims Assessment

Your new company
A national public sector organisation are looking to recruit three Legal Counsel - Claims Assessors on a contract basis for an initial period of 12 months, as part of an expansion project within the organisation's legal division. These are full-time roles and are based in central London, however, there is the opportunity to work on a hybrid basis.

Your new role
You will be working alongside a number of Lawyers focused on the management of all aspects of legal risks for the sub-division, which aims to resolve certain legacy issues facing the organisation. You will be responsible for reviewing a selection of historical documentation, investigation reports, claims and supporting documentation provided by claimants in order to analyse the merits and deficiencies of each claims. You will prepare an assessment of each claim, instructing and monitoring external advisers when required.

What you'll need to succeed
The successful candidate will be a UK qualified lawyer with up to 7 years PQE and have have legal dispute resolution and claims assessment experience, some of which will ideally have been gained in-house and in connection with high profile and/or sensitive matters. You will have a flexible and adaptable approach with a willingness to provide support where needed and be able to demonstrable confidence, initiative and ability to work collaboratively.
