Well regarded commercial law firm in Newcastle is looking to recruit a Healthcare Regulatory Solicitor or Barrister of 0 to 4 years’ PQE/Call. The Healthcare and Public Law Team provides legal advice and training to a wide range of organisations operating in the healthcare and social care sector, including NHS Trusts, independent sector providers, charities, commissioners and investors. The Team plays an important role in the firm’s broader Health practice, which is widely recognised as one of the leading strategic, commercial and regulatory legal adviser to the health and social care sector in the UK. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to undertake regulatory and advisory work, including coroners’ inquests, patient care issues and mental health advice, CQC inspection, regulation and enforcement. You will handle a varied workload with an appropriate level of supervision and act as a point of contact for clients, demonstrating a level of knowledge and skill commensurate you’re your level of experience.

You will have an enthusiastic and committed approach with an interest in developing expertise in areas such as health and social care regulation, coroner’s inquests, mental health law, serious medical treatment, professional disciplinary, incident investigation and information governance. Advocacy experience is an advantage (but not essential as training can be provided in this area). You will also be expected to support marketing and business development activity within the team e.g. attending marketing events and client training.
