Our leading off-shore law firm client is looking for an experienced External Communications Manager to further develop and integrate a world-class group external communications programme and strategy across paid, earned, shared and owned media channels. To strengthen the firm's brand in all its markets by generating and promoting thought-leading content as well as high-quality day-to-day corporate communications, press releases and announcements. This role reports to the Head of Brand and Marketing Communications.

Principal duties:

  • Advise and lead on the implementation of external communication activities that support the strategic objectives of the firm.
  • Establish strong relationships with the leadership team and lawyers to become atrusted comms partner, including scheduling regular in-person/virtual catch ups
  • Work with the wider marketing and business development (M&BD) team to ensure a continually high level of PR activity, including deal releases and other firm announcements (people news, awards, project updates, CSR etc.)
  • Draft and review press releases for regional and international media
  • Identify and develop opportunities for thought leadership content to reinforce the firm'sposition as trusted advisors and subject matter experts (by-lined articles, white papers, webinars, interviews etc.)
  • Oversee and direct the group social channels (LinkedIn, Twitter and WeChat)
  • Develop the firm's social media strategy, enhancing employee engagement and advocacy, and growing follower numbers through high-quality content
  • Manage the media distribution, amplification and monitoring
  • Leverage the firm's syndication and amplification platforms to generate and share qualified leads with lawyers, and maintain competitive subscription rates
  • Develop relationships with key media organisations and industry bodies in our locations
  • Work alongside the internal communications manager to deliver consistent messaging that aligns with group strategy and projects
  • Support the digital SEO work with regards to link-building activities and targeted articles in key titles
  • Draft and oversee the firm's international awards submissions
  • Coach, lead, manage and support 1 team member
