Corporate (Private Equity) lawyer 1+ years’ PQE LONDON

Our client, a commercial law firm in the City is looking to recruit a Corporate (Private Equity) lawyer of 1 or more years’ PQE. This role is to work across the Private Equity group which forms part of the wider Corporate department. Unlike most private equity practices, the PE Group at this firm consists of both funds lawyers and transactional lawyers, with a view to servicing PE clients from 'cradle to grave' from the formation of their fund vehicle, the re-structuring of fund vehicles, secondaries transactions and the acquisition and sale of portfolio companies. Whilst all associates within the team are actively encouraged to work for a wide range of partners to broaden their experience and expertise, there will be an expectation for this role to have a primary focus on Private Equity investment funds. Unlike the majority of investment funds practices, the team focuses on complex restructuring of existing fund structures, whether this is in the form of a GP-removal, a fund recapitalisation or a secondaries transaction. You are therefore expected to have a good knowledge of Private Equity fund structures so that you will be be able to participate actively in such transactional and advisory roles.

In view of the above our client is willing to accept candidates with a strong background in Investment Funds who have at least some experience of Private Equity fund formation and secondaries transactions. You will also have the desire to work within a small, but growing, ambitious and entrepreneurial team.
