Corporate Lawyer

Unique opportunity for a Corporate Lawyer with at least 1-3 years PQE to join a fast growing international practice in Birmingham and be part of a high-performing team with a real appetite for growth.

A leading international law firm is seeking a Corporate Lawyer to join its national team in Birmingham. This opportunity is offered on a full or part-time (4 days a week), permanent basis with hybrid working as standard and flexible working options accommodated. Work includes acting for a range of corporate clients from start ups through to SMEs and large global companies as well as public sector clients on a range of corporate matters inclduing mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, private equity, re-organisations, share buybacks, joint ventures, commercial contracts and corporate governance.

The team

The current corporate department advises both domestic and international clients in a variety of sectors on a wide range of corporate/commercial matters but with a primary focus on private company M&A work.
Collaborating and supporting specialist lawyers across the firm including; banking, tax, employment and intellectual property, this is a great opportunity to play a key role in the future of the firms corporate offering.

The work

The corporate group undertakes a variety of deals to include:

Private company acquisitions and disposals (both share and business/asset deals);
Private company reorganisations and intra-group transfers;
Setting up acquisition structures including shareholders agreements/investment agreements and shareholder funding arrangements;
Joint ventures;
Advising on the corporate aspects of management and executive incentive packages; and
Advising on share buy-backs, capital reductions, distributions and corporate governance matters.

The candidate

The successful candidate will have 1-3 years' PQE as a corporate lawyer in a busy practice.
In addition they will be a robust individual who enjoys networking and business development.
Excellent technical skills.
Commercial awareness.
Ability to manage files independently with appropriate supervision.
