Senior Compliance Officer - Middle Eastern Client Onboarding

A continually growing Wealth Management firm based in London are looking for a Senior Compliance Officer to join their Compliance team in a role that will focus on both the UK & Middle Eastern client base. Candidates should have strong cross border knowledge of onboarding clients in the Middle East. The role will also cover UK focused work and will be based in their London office. NB Candidates must have the right to work in the UK.

Main Responsibilities:

• Provide general regulatory guidance and advisory services with a focus on financial crime to all internal business areas.
• Review complex documentation and AML/KYC information for new clients at on-boarding stage, independently taking all necessary steps to either reach a conclusion or present a thorough case to the Head of Compliance Advisory.
• Autonomously support internal initiatives and projects ensuring compliance with regulatory and legislative requirements related to financial crime.
• Identify financial crime risk issues including the review and assessment updates/change in legislation and industry practices.
• Ad hoc duties related to oversight and development of policies, procedures and other processes within the team.
• Assist in the planning and provision of training for staff in line with current and future regulatory requirements.

Job Requirements:

• At least 7 years generalist Compliance experience working within a similar Wealth Management or Private Banking business.
• Expert knowledge of onboarding clients in the Middle East & UK, understanding the full requirements of the cross border rules & requirements.
• Strong Financial Crime knowledge, including JMLSG guidance is essential.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Good communicator, comfortable dealing with all levels of staff.
