We are currently working with an award winning national law firm looking to expand their banking and finance team through the hiring of an exceptional Banking and Finance Associate.

This role is to support their Partners, Solicitors and Trainees on a range of transactional work varying in scale and complexity.

What the role entails:

  • Handling a range of banking and finance matters of varying sizes and complexity, spanning development finance, real estate investment finance, inward investment deals, project finance and corporate loans.
  • Initiating, building and maintaining effective client relationships
  • Pro-active involvement in marketing initiatives
  • Training and development of junior legal staff and support staff
  • Ensuring files are managed in compliance with Lexcel procedures
  • Participating in firm-wide and departmental training sessions

Candidate requirements:

The firm has a Career Development Framework which sets out the competencies they expect of colleagues at every level. In particular for this role they require:
 

  • 0-5 years PQE Banking Lawyer.
  • Have experience of, and an interest in, real estate finance (both investment and development deals), corporate financings and leveraged finance transactions;
  • Have gained experience in a large commercial firm or in-house legal team;
  • Be a team player, able to forge strong working relationships with colleagues in an agile environment;
  • Be technically strong with a willingness to undertake both structured and on the job training; and
  • Have the interpersonal skills necessary for this client-facing role and be enthusiastic about business development.
