The Role:

This prestigious, highly ranked Legal 500 law firm is seeking a Commercial & IP Solicitor with 3-5 years PQE to join at the Associate level.

You will be joining an outstanding team, within a firm recognised as one of the 20 best law firms to work for. The workload will consist of a wide variety of general commercial law and IP-related matters.

The team advises on contracts for the supply of goods and services, IT contracts and outsourcing, software licensing, online trade terms, consultancy agreements, IP, data protection, privacy, distribution agreements, agency agreements and collaboration agreements

Within such a highly ranked firm which specialises in this specific sector - you will gain access to the finest quality of work. In this position you will assist in the drafting and negotiating of commercial contracts, requiring solid relationship management regarding clients and third parties. You will advise on business issues and review, draft and negotiate a variety of agreements relating to the technology and IT sector.

The successful candidate will also draft policies and procedures relating to data protection and privacy, advising clients on this sphere of law. Finally, you will undertake intellectual property related matters - advising on and drafting agreements for the protection or exploitation of IP rights, IP licensing contacts and IP provisions in commercial agreements and R&D contracts.

The role would suit a solicitor looking to make a lateral move from an established national firm OR either an ambitious individual from a smaller practice looking to take a step up.

You will gain an excellent amount of client contact and participate in the team's business development activities to grow the department.

Requirements:

  • England & Wales qualified solicitor with 3-5 years PQE
  • Experience in Commercial contracts and IP matters
  • Previous exposure to tech/data work
  • Ability to manage your own caseload
