A rare opportunity has arisen for an Interim Director of Law and Governance to join a large Borough Council based in the North West. The post holder will also act at Monitoring Officer to the Council.

As Interim Director of Law and Governance and Monitoring Officer, you would be responsible in leading, co-ordinating and managing the law and governance functions of the Council, whilst permanent recruitment gets underway. The role is expected to last for an initial 6 months, with a view to extend depending on the outcome of the permanent recruitment campaign.

The ideal candidate will be a qualified Solicitor, or equivalent with a current practicing certificate and you will have acted as Monitoring Officer within the public sector previously.

This role will operate predominantly remotely, though attendance will be required for some Senior Leadership Team meetings and Council meeting.
