Senior Legal Counsel - Remote working

This is a wide-ranging Senior Legal Counsel role available on a remote basis.

Our client is a listed business process outsourcing business.

Description

The key responsibilities with this role include:

• Reviewing, drafting and negotiating mutually beneficial relationships with both private and public sector clients and suppliers in line with the governance framework and the organisation's preferred positions (where available).
• Drafting standard terms for new products / propositions.
• Briefing the relevant Head of Legal on contractual relationships of concern, other areas of legal risk and opportunities encountered in the course of day to day business
• Stakeholder management, which includes a close working relationship with the commercial and procurement teams and the wider legal team.
• Liaison with business to provide proactive commercial legal support to help them achieve: (i) their business plans and (ii) the effective delivery and management of existing contracts.
• Progression and resolution of disputes with clients and suppliers.

Profile

The successful candidate will be a common law or UK Qualified Lawyer will full UK working rights who will be tax resident in the UK while in post. They will be likely to have at least 10 years PQE.

They:

• Must be able to work without supervision and be able to lead and manage complex deals.
• Must be a commercial contracts specialist with experience of services / outsourcing contracts (not just consultancy contracts or standard terms etc).
• Must have experience of reviewing, negotiating and drafting bespoke customer contracts.
• Public sector experience and/or IT / IP / networks experience a distinct advantage.
