Financial Services Regulatory Solicitor - City of London


Global, legal services provider is seeking a talented Solicitor with experience in banking and investments to join its expanding Financial Services Regulatory team on a permanent basis.

The Firm
This is a multinational legal services provider advising household name clients across 145 different countries. Their impressive, global, client base, from multinational conglomerates to SME's, rely on them for precise and considered legal advice on complex multi-jurisdictional matters spanning a full range of legal disciplines.
As part of planned strategic growth, the London office is now seeking to appoint a financial services regulatory lawyer to advise their enviable, household name, client base.

The Role covers
Technical Delivery - provide high quality financial services regulatory advice as part of legal services own account work or as part of a KPMG multi-disciplinary projects.

Business/Client Development - develop relationships to generate revenue for the firm internally within KPMG and externally with clients, respond to business development opportunities.

Delivery - Supporting engagements on a day-to-day basis. Contributing effectively to project teams and take responsibility for completing work. Strong interpersonal skills in addition to strong oral and written communication skills.

Proactive in supporting and expanding our Regulatory legal services practice. Sustain a high level of drive, shows enthusiasm and a positive attitude that translates across the team.

Developing internal networks and maintaining excellent relationships with colleagues across all areas of KPMG.

Demonstrating technical expertise by developing / enhancing propositions that are relevant for clients relating to one or more areas of regulation.

The Candidate
You will have around circa 3-5 year's PQE with experience of:
· Non-contentious regulatory advice from a leading City regulatory practice or from and in house regulatory role.

· Advising banks (traditional and challenger), investment firms, market infrastructure providers and other financial institutions on financial services law and regulation, including all the major UK/EU regulatory regimes

· Structuring and authorisation of new businesses, including post-Brexit strategy and restructuring

· Regulatory change and commercial projects (including outsourcing)

· Regulatory transformation and compliance affecting the financial services sector

You must be a fully qualified UK Solicitor
