Your new company
A household name, my client is seeking a Legal Counsel to join their impressive in-house legal function, based in Bristol. This role will offer commercial work of the very highest quality to be found in an in-house environment. This wide-ranging role will form part of a wider team based in Bristol and the role holder will work on complex commercial matters, providing legal support on market leading work. You will join an award winning, talented, hands on and exciting team of lawyers working closely with other lawyers, industry experts, product and commercial teams to deliver amazing new products and services.

This is a permanent role, and the company are flexible regarding working pattern. The team are currently working in a hybrid manner, with a mix of home and office working, and would be looking for you to commute to their office in Bristol 2-3 days per week, therefore it is likely that you will live within commuting distance.

Your new role
You will be providing legal support to the business with a focus on partnering, distribution channels, product compliance, commercial law and supporting consumer customers in the UK. You will be drafting, reviewing and negotiating contracts with partners and act as a trusted partner to provide strategic, pragmatic guidance and advice to stakeholders on legal issues and risks, approval and governance processes, company policies and business strategy. You will be interacting closely with senior stakeholders to convey key issues succinctly and concisely, and will have the ability to question intelligently, challenge rigorously and recommend a course of action to a stakeholder.

About You
Our client is looking for a UK qualified solicitor (or equivalent) with at least 1-3 years PQE in non contentious commercial law, with experience gained either in-house or at a high quality national or international law firm. You will be a first-class technical commercial lawyer with extensive experience in commercial contracts, ideally with knowledge of technology and a comprehensive understanding of Consumer's business objectives, processes and systems, and the legal and regulatory framework in which Consumers operate. You will be comfortable influencing/delivering strategically important projects with the ability to work closely with internal stakeholders and will have excellent drafting, communication, stakeholder management, organisation, influencing and persuading skills. You will be not only a strong technical lawyer, but also a great ''people person.''
