Job description: A law firm in Manchester city centre is looking for a General Counsel to join their in-house legal team on a 12 month FTC to provide maternity cover.

They are looking for support on a full time basis and can offer some remote working.

The successful candidate will be leading the in-house team, with a particular emphasis on company secretarial duties, dispute resolution and commercial litigation. Provide advice on a wide range of corporate, commercial, regulatory, data protection and dispute resolution matters. They will work closely with all areas of the business group, including the non-legal businesses. Some of the advice provided by the team is in response to business need and some is more project-based, supporting ongoing strategy initiatives. This is a varied role, but there is a strong bias towards drafting commercial contracts. It is important that you are excited about the prospect of working on a wide range of legal disciplines including some data protection advice (with the support of specialised lawyers).

As the successful candidate will be leading the in-house team, some delegation of the above points will be required.

Salary:  DOE up to £110,000 per annum

Hours per Week: 35
