My client is one of the leading providers of legal advice within the social housing sector with a strong presence across the North of England. In keeping with my client's aim for further growth and expansion of their social housing offering, there is now an opening for a qualified solicitor with social housing experience to join a wonderful team led by a strong partner pairing.

Ideally my client is looking for a solicitor to be based out of their Newcastle office but for the right candidate will also consider solicitors based in Leeds. The team which the successful candidate will be joining undertakes a wide variety of social housing related property work including development, acquisitions and supervision of routine disposals.

The ideal candidate will be someone who has between 2 - 5 years of post-qualification experience working within social housing law. More specifically, the responsibilities the successful candidate will have include the following (not an exhaustive list):

  • Working on site acquisitions, developments and disposals for regional and national residential RPs and the full due diligence and reporting that entails;
  • Drafting Reports and Contracts, Options, Building Leases, Promotion Agreements, Transfers and Overage Agreements;
  • Dealing with ad hoc leasehold transaction for RPs;
  • Preparing for the sale of completed shared ownership dwellings following acquisition;
  • Working with partners to respond to queries relating to property funding and regulatory matters;
  • Working with partners to expand my client's residential housing development offering and client base; and
  • Contributing to business development activities and raising my clients profile externally.

My client is looking for someone with a strong work ethic and someone who can adapt and establish themselves within a team that works very closely together as it continues to increase its share within this particular legal market. Salary will be bespoke depending on experience.
