Housing/Property Litigation Solicitor (3-5 PQE): Newcastle

My client is one of the leading providers of legal advice within the social housing sector with a strong presence across the North of England. In keeping with my client's aim for further growth and expansion of their social housing offering, there is now an opening for a qualified solicitor with social housing litigation experience to join a wonderful team predominantly based in Leeds. My client is looking for a solicitor to work out of its Newcastle office.

The successful candidate will collaborate with a subject-renowned Partner in dealing with, developing and expanding social housing litigation generated within or referred to my client's Housing department across all 3 of its offices.

My client is interested in speaking with candidates who have between 3-5 years of post qualification experience. It is essential that this experience includes working within social housing litigation. More specifically, the responsibilities the successful candidate will have include the following (not an exhaustive list):

• Matters relating to tenancy enforcement - (possession, injunction and committal applications in respect of anti-social behaviour and tenancy compliance + any relevant advocacy at Court following those applications;
• Dealing with defended housing disrepair claims;
• General complaint management on behalf of clients;
• Leasehold disputes; and
• Statutory rights advice (e. Right to Buy, Right to Acquire).

As well as the above, the successful candidate will be involved in any and all relevant business development opportunities in addition to provide support and assistance to more junior members of the team where relevant. Salary will be bespoke depending on experience.
