We are delighted to be representing a leading international law firm with offices in Belfast that are recruiting for a Real Estate lawyer at NQ level + to join their growing team in Belfast.

Our client has an award winning UK Real Estate practice that has a reputation for executing the largest and most complex real estate deals with accuracy and at speed. They provide advice on all aspects of general commercial property including investment, restructuring, development, acquisitions, disposals, corporate occupiers, PPP, corporate support work and real estate finance.

The group also has first-class standalone planning, dispute resolution and construction practices.

Your new role

In your new role you will work closely with Senior Solicitors, supporting them on fee-earning matters, including briefing and supervising Trainees and Legal Analysts.

As an NQ + Solicitor, you will undertake the more complex reviews, drafting and negotiations across a range of deal types, transactions and projects within Real Estate.

You will also be expected from time to time, to step up and lead projects or specific work-streams on a mandate, supervised by Senior Solicitors and/or the ALT Real Estate Senior Manager or Manager, who will support as necessary.

Skills, experience and qualifications

Key responsibilities

  • Conducting fee earning work directly, as well as supervising Trainees, Senior Legal Analysts and Legal Analysts.
  • Managing own caseload, receiving instructions from and liaising directly with clients on non-contentious construction matters including negotiating building contracts, professional appointments, collateral warranties/third party rights.
  • Playing a proactive role in the delivery of projects advising on the construction aspects of disposals, acquisitions and re-financings for Real Estate and Corporate matters.
  • Delivering excellent client service and make an effective contribution to the firm's work.
  • Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge of relevant areas of law to the ALT Real Estate practice.
  • Working with legal technology tools appropriate to the relevant matter (e. artificial intelligence tools for DD).
  • Ensuring compliance with financial disciplines on matters. Liaising with clients and teams elsewhere in the firm as required on fee-earning matters or projects.
  • Line management responsibility for Trainees, Senior Legal Analysts and Legal Analysts, as directed by the ALT Real Estate Senior Manager or Managers.

  • UK travel may be required from time to time.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Qualified solicitor in England and Wales or Northern Ireland, but Republic of Ireland or other common law jurisdictions will be considered. (If not qualified in England and Wales then willing to complete process to requalify as such, if required).
