My Client is a top tier full service, multi-site Legal 200 law firm, with a high-profile private client team and established court of protection sub department.
This vacancy is for a specialist court of protection solicitor to manage a busy caseload complex matters, along with supervision and mentoring responsibilities.
The firm is a panel deputy for the Office of the Public Guardian and the Court of Protection. It deals with complex issues relating to mental capacity, financial abuse, powers of attorney, advance decisions and Court of Protection applications.
The ideal person will have at least 4 years’ post qualification advising in this area of law; applying for appointed deputies, or act as a deputy, offer practical advice, make decisions relating to property, finances and the welfare of the person who lacks mental capacity, prepare LPA's, set up trusts, act in contentious situations and act as an expert witness for litigation lawyers.
