HSE Criminal Regulatory Solicitor / Associate or Legal Executive - Greater Manchester
HSE Criminal Regulatory Solicitor or Legal Executive - Greater Manchester
Criminal Regulatory Solicitor / Associate or Legal Executive - This expanding team, which deals with a broad range of matters from motor crime to healthcare regulatory and environmental matters to corporate manslaughter is looking for a solicitor or legal executive to strengthen the department.
Opportunity in brief
- Job Title: Solicitor or Legal Executive
- Location: Greater Manchester
- Salary: £28,000 - £45,000
- Reports to: Partner
- Previous experience: Ideally a background in motor crime and / or regulatory and compliance. Any experience of trials or inquests would be useful as well as liaising with the Court, Coroner's Office and CQC, Police, HSE or relevant regulator.
Broad spectrum of regulatory work on offer
The team has been structured in order to advise various clients across a broad spectrum of work. Rather than lawyers being allocated to certain clients or focusing on one particular area of regulatory work, fee earners are given the opportunity to develop their expertise, developing as much far-ranging experience as possible.
Work can vary from motor crime to healthcare and environmental regulatory matters and even high-profile areas such as corporate manslaughter. The nature of the work can involve everything from inquests and criminal hearings to advising on day-to-day compliance issues.
Lawyers may find themselves attending hearings at the magistrate's court, crown court and coroner's court or they may find themselves in the boardroom carrying out compliance audits. The nature of this practice area demands candidates who have sound critical thinking skills as well as a practical commercial approach.
Work closely with experienced lawyers
Depending on the candidate, the successful applicant may be primarily assisting a more experienced associate, legal director or partner. However, there are also opportunities for more experienced candidates to grow and develop their own caseload. This is very much a client-facing role where building strong relationships with clients is crucial.
Whether it's reviewing evidence, drafting witness statements, instructing counsel, preparing detailed attendance notes or preparing trial bundles, the team is looking for a dedicated, enthusiastic individual who wants to develop an exciting career with a dynamic team.
This role will suit applicants who are motivated team players and are able to react quickly when required. Candidates have a passion for the cut and thrust of court as well as the attention to detail which goes hand in hand with investigatory work.
Have you a transferable skill set and are you looking for a retrain?
The Hiring Managers are also willing to consider those looking for retrain. So, if you have a strong background in another area such as EL/PL or crime, we would like to talk to you.
