Locum Childcare Paralegal

Locum Childcare Paralegal – Up to £25 per hour Umbrella – Remote Working –  West Midlands

Venn Group’s specialist legal team are currently working with an established Local Authority in the East Midlands who are recruiting for a Locum Childcare Paralegal to join their department.

This is a brilliant opportunity for a Paralegal to become part of a forward thinking, proactive Local Authority. This is a full-time position however candidates with part-time availability may also be considered.

The role is offered for an initial period of 3 Months but with a likelihood of being extended based on workload.

The ideal candidate will have previous experience working within Local Government and handled their own caseload of pre-proceedings and private matters. However, candidates from a Private Practice background may also be considered.

Duties may include:        

• Providing legal support to one or more solicitor
• Drafting C2, consent orders and all other applications via the courts portal system
• Drafting of case summaries, briefs to counsel and letters of instruction to experts
• Diary maintenance of solicitors and clients with court dates
• Obtaining disclosure from third parties, such as schools, police and hospitals
• Redacting of documents and carrying out disclosure
• Preparing bundles for hearings and circulating them to court and the relevant parties
• Making expert enquiries or obtaining counsel for hearings
• Attending meetings and minute taking
• Reviewing evidence, documents and Section 7 Reports
• Completing internal case lists for the progression of matters
