Are you a Contracts & Procurement Lawyer with Public Sector experience?

We are recruiting to an exciting opportunity within a well-regarded London Borough Council for a Locum Contracts & Procurement Lawyer. The assignment will begin on a 3 month contract, but is likely to be extended on a rolling basis.

Our client is looking for a Contracts & Procurement Lawyer with hands on experience working within the Public Sector, ideally within a Local Authority. This would be suited to a qualified Solicitor or Barrister.

The duties of this role will include, but not limited to:

  • Provide legal advice and assistance on Contracts, Procurement, Corporate and Commercial Law, Data Protection and Competition Law
  • Provide advice to Council on the implementation and application of GDPR in respect of their Contracts
  • Act on behalf of the Council in respect of the procurement of various contracts including contracts for Works and Services, Concession Contracts, Waste Contracts, Building and Construction Contracts and Back to Back Agreements
  • Advise on the interpretation of Contracts and other legal documentation and responsible for carrying out complex drafting and the execution and completion of all types of commercial contracts

The ideal Contracts & Procurement Lawyer will have good knowledge of public procurement, service contracts and data protection.

The successful Contracts & Procurement Lawyer will be joining a really friendly and supportive team. On offer is a competitive hourly rate and flexible working arrangements. They will have autonomy over their own caseload, therefore this role would be suited to a candidate with experience of the above.

Our Client is ideally looking for a candidate who can attend the office in central London at least once per week.
