Employment Barrister / Solicitor-Advocate, Leeds

An unusual opportunity has arisen for an experience Employment Law Barrister or Solicitor-Advocate to join the in-house advocacy team of this major international firm, and further develop their career in employment advocacy.

- Work alongside the lawyers in the employment team nationwide to provide a seamless service to clients on the lifespan of their respondent based contentious employment matters
- Tap into communications detailing all upcoming advocacy needs across the firm, which helps to plan your pipeline of work
- Deal with a steady flow of advocacy matters which are shared out across the team depending on expertise required and capacity to deal
- Handle advocacy on discrimination cases, unfair dismissal, wrongful dismissal, TUPE matters, misconduct and employment regulatory matters
- Opportunity to also get involved in advocacy matters for other teams, depending upon your experience, enabling you to further develop a second string to your bow

More about you
- You will be an experience employment Barrister or Solicitor-advocate, with at least 5 years' advocacy experience under your belt
- You will ideally have some additional experience in a further practice area to draw on. While employment law shows no sign of slowing down any time soon, it would add value to the team to have another area of work that you could also operate in - this is not essential
- Your experience can be on the respondent or applicant side, although most of the work you will do is respondent-based
- You will be a commercial-minded team player who wants to play a key part in a growing offering within a major global organisation
