Legal Counsel - Commercial

Our FinTech client is a specialist technology-based lending provider within financial services, with established clients on a global scale.

Their friendly London team is looking for a Legal Counsel to join them in providing day-to-day legal advice to the UK Management Team. This is a great opportunity to report directly to the company's General Counsel, with highly visible work across the company senior management teams - taking your career to the next level!

Role responsibilities:

The work will involve day-to-day generalist advice on a range of areas, including:-

• Mortgage and consumer credit matters;
• Real estate matters;
• Commercial contracts;
• Data Protection (UK GDPR implementation and managing ongoing changes to legislation);
• IT and IP matters;
• Regulatory / Compliance matters;
• Employment matters; and
• Corporate matters (including M&A and JV).

The ideal candidate will:

• England & Wales qualified lawyer at the junior-mid level (however all candidates will be considered on merit);
• 3-5 PQE as a commercial/corporate Lawyer, either in Private Practice or In-House;
• Be capable of dealing with a range of matters simultaneously;
• Able to grasp new areas of practice quickly;
• Be commercially focused and innovative;
• Have a balanced attitude to risk;
• Be an approachable and friendly team player; and
• Able to work well with both Senior Management and operational staff of the business.
