An opportunity has arisen for a post-graduate having completed a law degree or an alternate degree followed by a conversion to law, with at least two years relevant experience. The selected candidate will join our in-house legal team in a wide range of real estate work mainly focusing on the acquisition of new build affordable housing units from housebuilders, but also in support of more general business needs were required.

Description
- Assisting with site acquisition due diligence/contract negotiation and providing instructions to external solicitors acting for the company.
- Reviewing contracts to ensure that they comply with the company's requirements.
- Reviewing and advising on section 106 agreements in relation to the affordable housing units to be purchased by the company.
- Developing and maintaining a good working relationship with colleagues in the legal team, other internal teams and external solicitors.
- Assist with reviewing and advising on Reports on Title.
- Conduct legal research.
- Draft correspondence and documents.
- Handle administrative duties including analysing and inputting data, tracking transaction progress and maintaining documents on electronic filing system.
- Assisting with other responsibilities according to business need such as reviewing NDAs, nomination agreements with local authorities or assisting with financing projects.
Profile
- At least 2 years relevant experience, ideally relating to residential development and/or the social housing sector.
- Clear and effective communication skills in both oral and written English.
- Ability to organise and prioritise own work load.
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Hard working, self motivated and eager to learn.
- Ability to meet deadlines and deal with time pressured projects.
- Ability to use Microsoft Word and Excel. Training will be provided on role specific IT systems.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Law degree or alternative degree followed by conversion to law.
