Senior IP Litigation Lawyer

THE FIRM

A firm which houses a leading IP team handling a wide range of IP matters across a variety of intellectual property rights, technologies and commercial contexts.

THE ROLE

Assisting with and in some instances overseeing trade mark, design and copyright litigation, as well as other IP-related disputes, including:

pre-action advisory work

infringement and cancellation proceedings before IPEC, High Court and Patents Court (designs)

managing key aspects of the litigation process, for example, inter partes correspondence, instructions to counsel, proofing witnesses, cost budgeting, case management conferences, interim applications, managing e-disclosure exercises, liaison with Court, etc.

oppositions and cancellation proceedings at the UKIPO

alternative dispute resolution procedures (e. mediation)

coordinating foreign proceedings and liaising with overseas counsel in multiple jurisdictions

anti-counterfeiting work including Customs/Trading Standards actions and liaison with overseas agencies and counsel regarding equivalent measures

domain name disputes (e. Nominet and UDRP)

Company Names Tribunal cases

Negotiating and drafting settlement and co-existence agreements.

Providing commercial law advice, drafting and advising on commercial contracts with an IP angle.

THE CANDIDATE

With 5-7pqe you will have experience of contentious soft IP litigation before the IPEC, High Court or Patents Court (designs)

Ideally you will have the Postgraduate Diploma in Intellectual Property Law and Practice, University of Oxford although this is not essential.

Languages would be beneficial
