Interim Counsel - 6 Month Contract - Part time (3 days a week)

The client requires a part time candidate (3 days per week) with broad commercial, commercial property and not for profit/ public sector experience.

They provide programmes of informal education supporting young people in developing skills for life and developing confidence through strong communities and endless opportunities.

Description

Our client are looking for someone with experience in drafting and advising on commercial contracts, particularly service contracts and contracts to support our digital transformation programme particularly, SAAS and software licence and development agreements amongst other varied workload.

• review of template contracts and other documents to support the contract completion and procurement processes.
• engage with client teams to review their service needs for Commercial contract support.
• draft and advise on commercial contracts generally, and to support client teams with their procurement processes, including the preparation of tender documents and specifications where appropriate.
• advise on commercial fundraising partnerships and associated competition terms and conditions and marketing or promotional activities, any other fundraising advice as may be required.
• work with the grant team to develop template grant terms and conditions.
• draft resource sharing agreements between the Scout Association and its 6 wholly owned trading subsidiary companies.
• review a range of collaboration and partnership agreements with other charities.
• Support with the renewal of land usage agreements and acquisition of new premises to ensure charity can carry out their goals and roll out new programmes in the community (commercial property matters)

Profile

• Experienced commercial lawyer (ideally with experience within public sector, charities and/or education)
• Experience with broad commercial legal matters (including procurement matters)
• Experience with commercial property would also be an advantage

Job Offer

Day rate: £400-450 per day via umbrella company (if you are interested in similar roles but the range does not suit you, please do still get in touch)

Flexibility and support: Offices are based in Chingford. Ideally they would like 1-2 days in the office but if more flexibility is required they may be flexible. They offer free shuttle busses from chingford station and also can provide accommodation overnight for those who live further away who would like to come to the office.
