This is a Senior Technology Lawyer vacancy in which you would be the lead technology lawyer for major UK Hub Airport.
Client Details
Our Client is a UK Hub Airport and a key player in the global aviation travel ecosystem.
Description
Central to this role will be taking responsibility for the provision of professional legal expertise to the business in respect of all Technology, Media and Telecommunications("TMT") activities at the Airport.
Advice will be required primarily in respect of:
- the placement of TMT arrangements with Airport suppliers and partners, to include outsourcing, procurement and licensing and
- issues arising post-contract, with a view to securing contractual performance by partners/suppliers, the enforcement of contractual rights and the resolution of potential disputes.
Specific tasks will include negotiating, reviewing and drafting contracts and other arrangements, as well as the provision of advice on post-contract matters arising including in connection with dispute avoidance and/or resolution, contractual claims and liabilities generally. You will:
- act as the key Legal contact for all TMT matters, assuming primary responsibility for the provision of proactive, robust and strategic legal advice to all parts of the business who are engaged in TMT related activities, with a view to ensuring that operational requirements are met and business objectives are achieved.
- work collaboratively with business teams, primarily the Solutions (Technology) team, in order to drive improvements; to proactively identify risks and opportunities; and find ways to mitigate or remove risks.
- report to the Executive and Board on legal matters as required and contribute to the overall management of the business as a senior manager including involvement in strategic and policy decisions.
Profile
The successful candidate will be a UK or Common Law qualified lawyer.
They will have substantial experience (probably over 8 years PQE) advising on Technology / Telco and IP contracting and preferable buyer side IT Procurement experience although lawyers with seller side Technology experience will also be considered.
Demonstrable evidence of involvement in digital transformation projects will be looked upon favourably.
The ability and willingness to work on general commercial matters, outside of technology, would also be appreciated.
