Senior Employment Lawyer
£85,000 per annum
About the company:
Watershed has been advising senior management on the practical implications and application of employment law for over 50 years. While we are not a traditional law firm, we are regulated by the Solicitors’ Regulation Authority. We offer a range of services for our clients to deliver an employment law service package that fits their needs.
We are looking for an ambitious Senior Employment Lawyer to work on a full-time, permanent basis. This position involves travel.
Senior Employment Lawyer responsibilities:
- Helping to grow and develop our services in employment law, maximising opportunities and developing long-term, fruitful relationships with both new and existing clients.
- Advising daily on a wide range of both routine and complex matters, that can be contentious or non-contentious, covering all aspects of employment law.
- Representing clients at the employment tribunal and the employment appeal tribunal, including carrying out any advocacy.
- Helping clients transform their business by advising on, and often participating in, complex collective redundancies, collective bargaining, large-scale changes to terms and conditions, and Transfer of Undertakings (Protection of Employment) transfers.
- Working on and managing a range of clients' projects and dealing with their day-to-day employment matters.
- Building and sustaining relationships, developing new accounts, and providing innovative solutions, while offering clients innovative ideas about employment law services technology, approaches, and methodology.
About you
We are seeking a Senior Employment Lawyer who has:
- Experience in employment law, with a track record of working with large private sector businesses.
- 1+ years’ Post Qualified Experience in a fees-based professional firm.
- Solid technical competence in employment law.
- The gravitas required to credibly advise senior stakeholders within large organisations.
- Up-to-date with modern working practices, while understanding the day-to-day pressures busy managers experience.
- Personable and professional, with the ability and drive to develop new business in a competitive industry.
- Capable of building and maintaining relationships with demanding clients.
- A confident communicator, with the experience needed to present and provide a range of services and products that match clients' needs.
- Commercially astute, with an unqualified desire to build long-term relationships.
Salary and Benefits
- Competitive salary in the region of £85,000 per annum, depending on experience.
- You will also gain access to an excellent benefits package alongside this.
- This would be an excellent position for an energetic individual who enjoys travel.
