Transactional/Financial Services Lawyer

A first-rate transactional finance lawyer is being sought by our client, a highly regarded government agency, on a permanent basis. As part of this small legal team, you will work on large, high value transactions dealing with debt capital markets documentation, derivatives and debt issuances. You will work collegiately on complex projects including new products and provide regulatory advice on transactions.  You will be in a public service role at the centre of financial markets dealing with matters making the news and big number transactions. You will liaise with other lawyers within the government, investment banks and lawyers.

As a senior lawyer you will still be learning and developing as you are challenged by a unique and interesting workload. A financial background is suggested for this role, but that can be from a capital markets, general lending or regulatory perspective. We would also consider lawyers with public law experience.  Most important is that you are a bright, capable lawyer who is wanting to learn but can take ownership, lead, and make good judgements.  Being part of a government department means a good benefits package and work-life balance is on offer, together with hybrid working.
