Rapidly expanding global leader in turnkey energy from waste plants and products is seeking to appoint a UK based lawyer for the first time. Reporting into the Legal Director who is based in Switzerland, you will undertake a broad ranging EMEA focused role that will require you to travel to Switzerland and to work from the office 3 days per week. Key responsibilities include:
- Collaborate closely with the company businesses' leadership in identifying, evaluating and mitigating legal risks, reviewing and approving transactions and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Structure, negotiate and draft international and domestic agreements with clients, partners and sponsors, financing institutions, contractors, suppliers and service providers in support of projects and products.
- Assist with the engagement of external counsel and dispute resolution management across various jurisdictions.
- Identify and provide solution-oriented counsel on a variety of day-to-day legal matters including internal processes and compliance.
- Drive best commercial legal practices across businesses.
- Deliver training on legal and contractual matters for personnel.
- Assist in the development and maintenance of contract templates and precedents.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of relevant legal developments and relevant industries.
Currently working at a leading law firm or in-house, you will be keen to work on cutting edge and complex construction contracts with respect to projects at a global company. This role will require you to work directly with senior managers across EMEA and with contractors, public and private sector clients, development partners and financial institutions. Projects are currently based across EMEA.
