About the Principal Childcare Lawyer opportunity:

Sellick Partnership are working in partnership with Powys County Council to recruit an experienced Principal Childcare Lawyer to join their existing Social Care Team.

As Principal Childcare Lawyer you will manage the existing team of childcare lawyers; the team is a small but welcoming team and like to work collaboratively. The team consists of two lawyers, one paralegal and a trainee solicitor.

Key duties of the Principal Childcare Lawyer:

As Principal Childcare Lawyer you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the childcare team, undertaking case allocation for the team, 1-2-1's, as well as carrying a caseload of the more complex cases.

Court based work is either at Swansea or Wrexham, and Powys County Council have a flexible working policy, which brings the opportunity to work from home wherever possible, around business needs.

Ideal requirements of the Principal Childcare Lawyer:

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in childcare or family law, and ideally have local authority experience. Ideally, you will have previous people management experience. Candidates from private practice who have solid understanding of public law are encouraged to apply, too. The Council uses an electronic case management system and so good IT skills are a must.

You will be a qualified Solicitor/Barrister/ Chartered Legal Executive (preferably with litigation advocacy rights) with a current Practising Certificate.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable but not essential.
