Global engineering group seeks a Contracts & Commercial Manager to work on capital projects on a fixed term contract basis that may go permanent.

 

The roles:

 

  • Working as part of a UK project team supporting large engineering and manufacturing projects
  • You will deliver a professional commercial and contract management service at all stages of the project lifecycle
  • Managing relationships with customers, partners and suppliers
  • Implement commercial management tools including Change Management
  • Negotiate, amend and draft clauses in complex contracts
  • Manage disputes and claims with clients and suppliers
  • Establish and implement procedures and processes including variations, insurance and notifications
  • Work in collaboration on projects through JVs
  • Manage risk mitigation
  • Oversee databases
  • Monitor compliance in Project Execution

 

 

Key Requirements:

 

  • Degree in relevant subject e.g. engineering or law; or a qualified Lawyer or QS
  • Minimum of 4 years* professional experience in Contract or Commercial Management in project execution
  • Sound experience of drafting, negotiating and advising on commercial contracts during projects
  • Prior experience working closely with the customer
  • Dispute/claims management experience
  • Prior knowledge of working on JVs a benefit
  • Sound knowledge of contract law
  • Working understanding of business accounting practices
  • Exposure to the manufacturing, engineering or technology sectors preferred
  • Strong interpersonal skills, a robust nature and the drive to succeed
  • You must be a team player and able to evidence this
