Job Description
500 million+, this is the number of patients treated with a Sandoz medicine globally. A division of Novartis, Sandoz is a global leader in generic and biosimilar medicines. We are now hiring a Legal Counsel to join our expanding Legal team.
The Legal Counsel will act as a legal advisor and business partner, negotiating contracts, managing litigation and providing counselling on substantive area legal issues.

Your responsibilities:
Your responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Providing effective legal counsel to Sandoz UK business teams on all aspects of pharmaceuticals business
• Delivering day-to-day legal services including drafting, negotiating, and settling commercial agreements.
• Acting as a true business partner, adopting a pro-active, business focused approach to negotiating and drafting basic transactions and contracts, assisting in management decision processes, and delivering robust risk assessments.
• Acting independently in complex legal matters and transactions.
• Leading on disputes and litigation and/or investigations, including managing the work of outside counsel and other legal experts.
• Working with the wider legal team on development, training and implementation of policies, procedures, and guidelines across the UK organisation

Minimum requirements
What you’ll bring to the role:

• Qualified to practice in the UK and 1-3 years PQE.
• Capacity to quickly analyse complex legal issues.
• Ability to work within ambiguous and rapidly changing frameworks.
• A passion to seek and receive feedback from colleagues and peers.
• A commitment to high performance, integrity and an outward-facing mentality.
• Proven ability to operate within tight time pressures and for demanding clients.
• Sound experience in handling a high volume of activity involving multiple, often complex, projects simultaneously.
• Demonstrable willingness to understand and work within the changing dynamics of the Pharmaceutical industry.
• A background in or experience of commercial law.

Desirable requirements:

• Prior experience of working in-house or on pharma legal issues is desirable but not required.
