Banking Lawyer required for a leading regional law firm in Manchester or Liverpool, at NQ to 4+ PQE level
Your new company
This is a large, regional law firm who have offices in Liverpool and Manchester, and are looking to expand their team with a banking lawyer. The company specialise in the full range of commercial law, dealing with banking and finance, corporate and commercial, property and construction plus more. The firm are going through an impressive period of growth and have added a number of experienced lawyers to their teams recently. This banking lawyer position has opened due to growth and an increasing workload, and can be based in Liverpool or Manchester with hybrid flexibility.
Your new role
As a banking lawyer you will be required to work independently and assist the firms fee earners with a range of banking, finance, asset based lending and corporate functions. This will be mostly non-contentious work. There is a good scope for progression in this role and you may be required as and when to assist with and train more junior members of the team. Other responsibilities include:
- Progressing a caseload from start to finish, under supervision and with training from the fee earners.
- Making and receiving calls to clients and third parties involved in the transaction.
- Responding promptly to requests for updates and information from clients and introducers.
- Preparing banking security documentation and finance agreements for review by the supervising fee earner.
- Reviewing supply contracts for quality of debt issues and SPA's where the client is funding an acquisition.
What you'll need to succeed
In order to be considered for this position, the firm are ideally looking to see CV's from candidates who have either qualified with a seat in banking or finance law, or have alternatively gained at least 1 or 2 years worth of post qualifying experience. The firm would be interested in candidates transferring to this area from similar areas of law. The firm will; consider applications from strong lawyers who have gained transactional experience and area eager to move into banking law.
