This is an exciting role for an ambitious and professional Paralegal to join a well-established and growing Investment Management organisation who will offer excellent pay and conditions as well as career opportunities.

The purpose of the role will be to provide assistance to the organisations General Counsel in developing the legal function and embedding it into the business.

MAIN ACTIVITIES & KEY TASKS:

The role encompasses the performance of a broad range of legal and administrative duties and will include the following:

Assisting with the reviewing, drafting and agreeing a wide variety of documents (to include contracts, terms and conditions, policies and processes, engagement letters, exclusivity agreements) relevant to the businesses day to day business.

Responsibility for regular organisation and maintenance of electronic filing document system, to include signed versions of all contracts/legal documents and all associated administrative duties.

In conjunction with the GC, provision of generalist advice to the business in respect of day-to-day legal queries.

Communicating legal concepts to the business in a clear, concise, accurate and timely manner.

Drafting and negotiation of all NDAs. Responsibility for execution and subsequent electronic filing on the businesses systems.

Responsibility for managing document execution logistics for group companies.

Provide support to the GC in liaising with and instructing external counsel for the business and for the groups fund clients and contribute to developing relations with panel law firms.

In conjunction with the GC, liaising with external counsel and the group fund management teams to assist with transaction execution and any post-completion matters. Ensuring that all statutory filings and HMRC/HMLR registrations are completed post-transactions.

Support GC with management of external law firm relationships including monitoring the quality of the service and completion of the annual review process.

Ensure all transaction documents are electronically filed on the groups systems post-completion.
Reviewing external counsel invoices and ensuring that fees are in line with agreed position/quotes provided at engagement.

Assist the GC with the handling of any disputes/litigation affecting the business

Undertake legal research as required by the GC and assist the GC with horizon scanning developments in the law that are relevant to the business and to the businesses clients.

Providing ad hoc assistance to the Head of Compliance and working with the Assistant Co Sec on a variety of compliance and corporate governance matters.

Assisting the Head of Compliance with the delivery of the groups Investment and Completion Committees, including responsibility for collating and circulating papers to all attendees, ensuring correct attendees are invited to attend and minute taking.

Supporting the Assistant Co Sec in drafting minutes for the group companies and client fund subsidiary companies.

Support Office Management with contractual arrangements relating to business suppliers including annual review process.

Role requirements

6-12 month previous Paralegal experience ideally in-house or with a commercial outlook.

Strong Academic record and a minimum of 2:1 law degree.

Excellent communication skills, in-person and written.

This will be a permanent hybrid opportunity requiring a minimum of 3 days per week based from the City of London office. Competitive salary available subject to skills and experience.
